Hildebrand Care Center

Introduction to Department Managers

Lawrence Cowan

Welcome to our family at Hildebrand Care Center! My name is Lawrence Cowan and I am proud to serve as the Administrator at Hildebrand Care Center. I started my healthcare career in 1987 as a C.N.A. and later worked as the Social Services Director in LTC. I’ve completed multiple certifications in healthcare and have been a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator for 30 years, a Licensed Practical Nurse since 2009. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in education and Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration.

I previously worked at Hildebrand Care Center as Administrator for 7 years and returned in 2023. I firmly believe that our primary focus at all times should be the RESIDENTS. I am happily married to Tiffanny, and collectively we have three awesome grown children and five awesome grandchildren, plus a sweet angel granddaughter, Magnolia Ann. We have two wonderful little fur babies, Precious May and Sadie Sue, who, of course, are NOT spoiled, lol.

Our family enjoys spending time camping and I enjoy decorating our yard and recycling old items to look new again! I look forward to meeting each of the residents and their families as you become a part of our Hildebrand Care Center family. I do believe in an open-door policy and encourage open communication at all times. My personal belief is “It’s Loving and Giving That Make Life Worth Living."

Welcome to our Home. My name is Shanon Carney, and I am honored to be the Director of Nursing here at Hildebrand Care Center. I graduated in 2020 from Pueblo Community College with an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing. I have spent my entire working career in healthcare, starting out as a C.N.A when I was 16. I have a passion for nursing and could not imagine doing anything else.

My other passion is my family. I have been blessed to have a best friend whom I can also call my husband, and together we have three wonderful children: Evan, Adrian, and Mya. We enjoy having fun and being silly together, and it brings me great joy to watch our residents laughing and having fun as well.

I look forward to welcoming each resident and their families as they become part of our family here at Hildebrand Care Center.

Tonya Patterson

My name is Tonya Patterson, and I am the Marketing Director/Admissions at Hildebrand Care Center. I began my career in the long-term care industry in 1988, starting as a feeder aide and later becoming a certified nursing assistant. In 1992, I served as an activity assistant, and by 1994, I assumed the role of Activity Director, leading the activities department in the day-to-day implementation of programs that adequately address residents’ physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs.

Recently, I stepped down from the position of Activity Director to focus more on marketing and admissions. In my current role, I direct and coordinate new resident admissions, conduct facility tours, and engage in marketing activities for Hildebrand Care Center to promote public awareness. My objective is to coordinate prospective resident/family facility visits and facilitate a comfortable transition for new residents by coordinating the efforts of the admissions team.

Currently, I am the Dietary Manager here. I come from White Swan Yakima Indian Reservation in Eastern Washington and grew up wild and crazy! With 38 years of experience in food service, including 10 years in the United States Army as a Hospital Food Service Specialist/Nutritionist, I've worked in various long-term care facilities, assisted living/independent living, and rehab hospitals.

Julie Rivera

Julie Rivera

Hello and welcome to Hildebrand Care Center. My name is Julie Rivera and I am the Director of Marketing here at Hildebrand Care Center. It is my goal to bring awareness of our loving facility to the public, including the beautiful town of Canon City as well as the surrounding communities.

I have over thirty years of customer service including marketing, sales, and public relations. I studied Business Management with an emphasis on Marketing and Journalism at Colorado State University and Nursing at Pueblo Community College.

Being a native of Pueblo, I hope to share this gem of an organization with others in Southern Colorado and inform them of the great services we offer here at Hildebrand. I have held several different roles in the years making up my career and can attest that my time at Hildebrand has already brought me such rewards working alongside the most caring staff and getting to know the best residents.

I still live in Pueblo and enjoy the commute. I am marrying my high school crush in October and have two beautiful daughters from my first marriage and the two most gorgeous granddaughters. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family, fishing, playing with my fur babies, volunteering my time, and antiquing in the many quaint towns Colorado has to offer.

Thank you for taking the time to read our bios and we welcome your ideas and input. You may reach me directly at my extension 229. Have a wonderful day!
